Vacation home rental by owner in San Casciano in Val di Pesa (Florence)

Vacation home "Il Visciolo" is set in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, a Tuscan rural village few miles away from the city of Florence, on top of a hill dominating Chianti landscape.

The house was previously a barn, its convertion ended in 2006 and it is now a vacation home with all the appliances for living. Broadband Internet access is included into rental price. Car is not required, the bus terminal is 750 metres from the property. Reaching Florence center takes 22 or 30 minutes –ticket costs 2,80 euro– by coach (depending on where you get off) or about 20 minutes by car.

The vacation home faces a garden with olive and fruit threes, with views of Chianti valleys. The garden is shared with the owners, who live in a close farmhouse, a few meters away. On the back sits the village with its houses. Good restaurants and shops are a five minutes' walk from the barn, San Casciano in Val di Pesa centre being at the end of the road (350 metres). A big COOP supermarket is 700 metres away.

We (wife and husband) live in the same property and we will be at your disposal if you need advice about places in Tuscany or anything else concerning your stay here.

Please note that Il Visciolo is given as a self-catering accommodation, a furnished house with bedding and linen but no food is provided.

Accommodation

Two floors small rural villa. Ground floor: kitchen, living room, bathroom. Upper floor: two bedrooms, bathroom.

The main bedroom has got a double bed, wardrobe, antique chest of drawers.

The other bedroom is divided into two levels, with stairs reaching a sleeping loft. The base level has got two desks with chairs, a wardrobe. Two twin beds are placed on the sleeping loft and they can be joined upon request.

The barn is not suitable for children under 8 years old.

Building type: single-family detached home (converted barn).

Outdoors

The vacation home, previously a typical Tuscan barn, is part of a property including a farmhouse and a 15th century villa. We live in the farmhouse, a few meters from the rented barn.

Parking space for two cars reserved in the property's parking lot.

About the location: San Casciano in Val di Pesa

San Casciano in Val di Pesa is a nice village in the Florentine Chianti. Many beautiful villas are located in its municipality. The village hosts a weekly market every Monday and many events are scheduled throughout the year, many of them concerning local agricultural products and organic food. It is not crowded with tourists so you can immerse yourself in real life of Tuscan people, local restaurants are reasonably priced and mostly frequented by Italians. There are many banks with ATM, a Coop supermarket, bars and fine shops.

San Casciano in Val di Pesa is appreciated also as a starting point for reaching other Tuscan towns, as it is very close (2 km) to a dual carriageway leading to both Florence (north direction), Siena (south) and the entrance to A1 highway "Firenze Impruneta".

Nearest airport is Florence's Aeroporto Amerigo Vespucci –FLR– (30 Km), but Pisa's Aeroporto Galileo Galilei –PSA– (73 Km) is busier and served by more low cost airlines. Other options (near or easy to reach, with budget flights) are Bologna BLQ, Rimini RMI, Forlì FRL, Rome's Ciampino CIA and Fiumicino FCO. Note on prices and minimum stay: you can stay less than 7 days even during high season, but the price would remain the one of a full week.

Security deposit: 250 euro (or US dollars equivalent) on arrival, returned at check-out if there are no damages.

Last minute deals and special offers

Till March 1st 2012: 6 days (or less) 500 euro, one week at 540 euro, 8 days or more at €75 per night. Arrival and departure day are flexible. Minimum booking 6 days, minimum stay at your choice (if you stay 4 or 5 days you pay €500).

Rental policy
